Dr. Weaver is an exceptional physician. I have had several Endocrinologists over the years, many of whom have been wonderful, but I say with full sincerity that he has been the best. He has been managing my autoimmune diabetes for just over a year and a half now. His broad and thorough knowledge, of even the more rare endocrine diseases, indicates that he clearly stays up-to-date on current literature and research. UPDATE: **changed my rating because of how great Dr. Weaver is** I was able to call and schedule my appointment shortly after this review was read. My appointment was set for May. I just had my appointment with Dr. Weaver and he is INCREDIBLE. I wish the referral process was better handled, as this is an amazing doctor I fear is not getting the recognition he deserves because of how terrible the process of getting in with him is. Wow. I’ve gone through quite a few endocrinologist in the last 20 years. I’ve been to them all in Michigan and Indiana and Dr Weaver is by far the best endocrinologist I’ve had. He is knowledgeable and helpful.
While I will agree that the receptionists are pretty off putting because of their behavior, and Dr. Weaver doesn’t really have great bedside manner, I’m pretty sure he saved my life. I’ve been skeptical about the diagnosis he gave me, and about a med change he made, but I think that might just be because of poor doctors I’ve had in the past. I’d recommend giving him a shot, especially because endocrinologists are so hard to get into right now.
Wow. I hate to leave a 1 star review for a doctor I am sure is probably great, but my goodness Beacon. It sounds like you all need to hire several referral coordinators and QUICKLY. Called after my PCP instructed me to if I had not been scheduled after about a week. I was met with, “We have 700 referrals here right now and are scheduling them in the order they were received.
