Travis was an amazing black visionary. I was at the time one of the black female bricklayers in Illinois. After working with several large contractors on jobs such as Harold Washington Library and the McCormick New Expansion project, I decided I wanted to really learn the art of Bricklaying so I went to work for a midsize construction company that what partnered with Travis.
