Infested with bed bugs I had the most horrible experience at Travelodge Nanaimo. On July 21, 2025, I checked into my room and immediately discovered bed bugs. After reporting it to the front desk, I was moved to another room — shockingly, that one was also infested with bed bugs. At 9:00 PM, I had no choice but to leave the hotel with nowhere else to stay in Nanaimo at that late hour. The staff were friendly and eager to help, (including the housekeeping and the staff that aren’t in the front). As for the morning breakfast, it was decent—not anything super extravagant, but definitely enough to fill your belly. The area the hotel was situated in also had walkable paths and taxi-accessible roads that lead to the water and pier. Personally, I found that the rooms were nice, however the bed was quite uncomfortable. Overall, I had a positive experience here!

The only good thing about this hotel is the staff; they are very friendly. The rooms need upgrades—there are stinky carpets and the window AC is old and not very effective at cooling.
