Very difficult company to do business with, I honestly would stay away. Have been trying to get a refund of my funds from a canceled policy since July. I am currently seeking legal counsel. I have filed complaints with the North Carolina Insurance Commissions office, along with the a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
I was involved in a claim due to being bitten by one of my neighbor’s dog. They were renting their unit in the condo building in which I own a unit and I live there as well - I was bit in a common area. All written communications to me from Travelers Insurance was sent to the DOG OWNERS Unit!!! Even after communicating with the assigned agent via text and email my correct unit number. If you want to know how dumb this company is, just look at the response for this . This insurance is a joke they double charged me. So now I can't get groceries this week to feed my family. They said I missed a payment which I did not. It's on there automatic withdrawal system. I called 3 times today got hung up on the first 2 times before even talking to anyone. Be aware using this company they don’t care much about assisting you when you need help or explanation as to why the premium for my policy went up 3x the original amount after an audit for my GL. The only explanation I got from either my agent or travelers is “it’s in my contract”. So basically in a nut shell don’t do business with them without reading the contract because they won’t explain to you up front why and when you’ll be charged an extra $12,000 on top of the policy premium I was already paying. Absolutely, the worst experience I've ever had dealing with an insurance company. I originally started by trying to acquire a quote online other companies had zero issues doing this. However, Travelers failed twice and then referred me to a phone number. The phone number passed me to three separate AI agents before I actually got to speak to a fourth individual that was finally a person.
