Trattoria Da Franco is great. This is a great tiny restaurant in Old Town. I go so often I call it simply "The Italian Place". Great service, great food, and great charm. You will not be disappointed.
Nice Italian Restaurant in Old Town I just recently tried this restaurant. It is a rowhouse converted to restaurant. Depending on your style, it is very cute and charming or it looks kind of half-assed. There are Xmas lights on the outside (all year round), lots of homemade signs, plants, etc. Inside, there is a fireplace and piano. There is the same type of decor in there (statues, signs, etc.). Do Not Go Here! If I could have given 0 stars I would. My gripe is not necessarily with the food it was fine, but nothing to write home about but trying to get the bill corrected that was a nightmare. My family of 12 were just there for Motherâs day. The hand written bill had no figures on it and it was barely legible. I could go into the long story but the bottom line was that they were trying to charge us for BOTTLES of wine not glasses. Inflated Reputation and Bill Errors I had the Calamari Alla Pescatora at lunch time. The pasta itself was not bad. However, the calamari was not satisfactory nor did it taste seasoned. I also wasn't offered cracked pepper or cheese for my pasta. In addition, I was charged 16.95 for the 13.95 plate of pasta. I have since checked other reviews and this appears to be a frequent issue. Great Place If great food matters to you, then Trattoria Da Franco is the place. My wife and I was there this friday and the food was good and the atmosphere reminded us of a cafe we had previous visited in Rome. The feel is of a neighborhood cafe with an international flair with several country's represented by the wait staff. They had live music and even the owner joined in with some old Italian songs. Great place, Good food. I highly recommend it.
The best Italian food in Old Town! I had the Risotto Carbonara, which was creamy and delicious. My husband has the Eggplant Parmigana, which was accompanied by freshly made pasta. Highly recommend!
