A Great Restaurant Trappe Taven is a typical American diner in Collegeville, PA. Its food is fantastic. I strongly recommend 1) Prime Rib Sandwich; 2) Tavern Steak (Philly cheese steak with all extra mushroom, peppers...); 3) the onion rings. It also has wide selection of beer. Although I rate it as 4-star, it is a 5-star local restaurant! PROS: Inexpensive price, tasty food. CONS: Friday, Saturday nights are very crowded; very smoky.
Typical Bar Scene The Trappe Tavern is a typical college town bar, filled with the same regulars & smoky atmosphere. The food is greasy & mediocre, nothing special about it. It's a fun time if that's your thing, but I don't recommend it for the family.
Good food at a Good price Good food at a good price. The only negative on the place is wait times. They don't have a waiting room area and the little space you have to wait in is to close to the bar to wait with children (due to the smoke)
trappe: great times! We love the trappe tavern. Especially now that it is smoke free! Yes it is a college bar, but the locals fit right in! The new deck is so much fun and relaxing! We really love the all you can eat crab night and drink special night! The softball team is fun to support and you really do get to know your neighbors here!
