Went through a list of businesses looking for a Capacitor for my A/C. All of them told me they will not sell to the public until I called Transtar. I believe it was Zach that I spoke to, very friendly and a great help. I had a question regarding my current part which he answered happily. Now that I know they are here, I will continue to use them for all my A/C parts needs.
If you are not a contractor they will treat like your an idiot. I had a simple project that needed two simple parts. I gave a description in plain English and he sold me the wrong parts. All sale are final if you are not a contractor. Never buy anything or allow any contractors that do work in my restaurant to purchase parts on my behalf from this company again.
If I could give zero stars I would. Worst business in the world! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. What these people do should be considered a crime. We bought two blower motors for our AC from them. We took our original in to make sure we got the right part and we were assured by the sales guy that it was right. Get home the motor literally fell apart during install. Keith was very helpful and got me the parts I needed right away. The 1-star reviews you're seeing are probably other DIYers who feel like they got burned by the "all non-contractor sales are final" policy. AC work is not usually something people DIY, so I imagine Transtar was getting burned by people returning stuff constantly because they specced it wrong... If you know what you need and/or can bring in the part for a cross-reference, you'll end up saving a bunch of money fixing your AC!
Very helpful! I really do appreciate them being patient and helpful when I call for parts.
