My hearing loss occurred at age 37, thirty years ago. I have severe to profound loss on the left side where my hearing aid helps tremendously, and profound on the right. I read lips well, but I work as a surgeon and in an operating room I have to deal with masks. I work with an incredible and supportive staff, and so my disability has never really been an issue. these glasses provide amazing transcription, and translation. I used them to watch a Japanese anime that had no captions, and it translated and displayed the text perfectly. one of the nice features is it will try to tag each different speaker with a different number, allowing you to determine who is talking. today, I let a woman of Persian ancestry try them. AirCaps glasses are fantastic! They are easy to use. The captioned words are clear and reasonably accurate. The glasses pick up conversations going on around me, even those occurring outside my group. Yet, when someone in my group is talking, the glasses shut out outside conversations. A miracle! I highly recommend them. I also bought an AirCaps external battery storage unit. I found it useful in extending the power longer than what can be stored in the glasses’ frame.
