This company provides in house Hospice care at Emory Johns Creek. I was provided with very little information about their process. I had to ask a lot of questions such as how do I know when my mom is close to passing. I was handed a pamphlet by the night nurse that explained the signs. For 2 days I met with their doctor, nurse, Chaplin and had 1 interaction with social worker. Our interaction was less than 72 hours. When my mom passed , I was on my way back to the hospital. Absolutely unacceptable service. Left us to google how to care for our father, a retired army colonel, as he was actively dying of COPD. Hours, days, up to a WEEK delays in delivery of needed and promised equipment. What we were told would be excellent care ended up being no care at all.
Homestead Hospice managed to make the worst experience of my life even more difficult. They constantly let my Brother's pain medication run out. They messed up the RX and nearly got us in trouble with the local government for alleged fraud. The lead nurse badgered us about religion and engaged in petty arguments with my partner. They offered to take my brother off site and then retracted the offer. One of the nurses had the nerve to accuse us of neglecting the poor guy because they couldn't be counted on to help out enough. ... read more
