Employees followed my sister around the store while shopping and stopped her when she tried to pick something up and show it to our mom. She was asked to leave her items at the counter, even though I was doing the same and was not bothered by staff. Only difference is that my sister is brown and my mom & I are white. Racial profiling in a store that appropriates Southeast Asian cultures is crazy work. Gross!
I stopped into this gift shop today looking for special chain to pair with an antique locket that’s a vintage piece that belonged to my Mom. Sara helped me, and I can’t say enough about how thoughtful and attentive she was. She took the time to really look at the locket and handled it with incredible care. I always come to check this place out when I’m in town. So many cool and interesting items from all over the world. Jewelry, sculptures, clothing, you name it. The owners are very nice people. I’ve bought quite a few items from them over the years. Definitely stop by, and don’t forget to check out the upstairs section they expanded into with more cool stuff.
