It all started in the 50s... Would you believe we started out as a small chain of convenience stores? It's true. Way back in 1958. We were called Pronto Markets. In '67, our founder, the original Trader Joe, changed our name (yes, to Trader Joe's) and the way we do business. We made the stores bigger (if you can imagine), decked the walls with cedar planks and donned our crew in cool Hawaiian shirts. Great experience! Cashier was very friendly. Fast check out and they were very busy.
Great, albeit small, store, with different selections for vegans than I haven't found anywhere else, like sriracha tofu, vegan banana bread, and other vegan baked goods. I stopped in recently to grab some whole wheat pitas, but the shelf was empty, and when I asked the employee in the department if they had any more, he dropped what he was doing and brought out lots of them for me. He was super friendly and helpful. I'll likely stop by this location anytime I'm in the neighborhood.
Was visiting Chicago and was happy to find out that a Trader Joes in the area. I had never been to one. Was only a few minutes away from the Acme Hotel I was staying at. The store is very organized. The workers were very courteous. One lady offered to get my year old a kiddie shopping cart so she could push it around and help mommy shop. They offer fresh items, organic items. Love the selection of products and the great prices for select items I have on my shopping list. During every visit I find a new item that Trader Joe’s has featured. Many of these have become favorites that are always on my shopping list. The staff is very knowledgeable. They can answer all of my questions and help me find what I am looking for even on a busy Saturday. I highly recommend Trader Joe’s.
Central location in River North, usually busy but staff is always helpful and so efficient. One of my go to stores for groceries 👍
