Nice Staff! UAB Medical West is the former Bessemer Carraway Hospital. UAB now manages this hospital. It is conveniently located off 1-59 in Bessemer. Although I have not been an inpatient my family has utilized their Emergency Department on several occassions. The wait is generally not as long as the hospitals within the city of Birmingham. The staff is very efficient and friendly. They have numerous specialist on staff with offices located on the premises. Very convenient parking. I would highly recommend their services.
An Excellent Physician Dr. Marshall is one of the finest physicians I have EVER had caring for my family and me. His manner is best described as a quiet strength borne of faith in God and unsurpassed competency and compassion. You know from the first moment that you are in good hands. His staff is also top-notch, representing the perfect blend of concern, friendliness, and efficiency. For that reason, the office is a comforting place to be when you or a loved one is ailing. PROS: I'd give SIX stars if I could! CONS: none

great doctor good bedside manner Mr James h Marshall MD is a great family doctor. I have used him as a child and he has good bedside manner. He is very slow in his explanations of what is wrong with you so you can understand. He also will you give you precriptions for the best possible medicine for your budget. His staff is friendly and welcoming and ready to fit you in the schedule if need be.
