EDIT: Today I am starting the 2nd course of antibiotics due to the infection not improving. I have make up remover pads on the sore and having to change them every 2 hours due to the weeping. The delay in getting antibiotics has caused this to become what it now is. I did email in my complaint but that was ignored and I've received no correspondence back at all. Not good enough. Went in this morning for a rash that has become an 8/10 pain wise clearly there's an infection yet i was told multipul times to go elsewhere. I stated i was fine to wait the approx 1hr i was advised but the bloke refused to allow me to wait and see a Dr despite fiving me the approx wait time. Im unable to get in at my usual GP and given i was woken up multiple times in excruciating pain 8/10 theres obviously an issue that needs to be dealt with. Went to urgent care for a sprained ankle on a Sunday. Was told they don’t do scans on a Sunday as North Queensland X-ray is closed and that they can’t even give a medical certificate or what they class as “work cover or return to work” which has nothing to do with a medical certificate. Told to go up to TUH which defeats the purpose of urgent care. Left upset and in pain to the mater.
Dr Syed was very kind, patient and helpful. I appreciate how he communicated with so much grace even when I wasn’t feeling right and eloquent.
Went in today with an issue, the triage nurse was so lovely. I only waited about 45 minutes if that and was in to see the Dr on duty. He was so lovely and I left with my script and I can not recommend Urgent Care for your minor medical problems. Thanks again team.
