Very poor customer service – I was so disappointed last night when I went to Towne - a place I frequented almost every Friday night last winter. The front bar staff was so rude, snobby, unprofessional, spent more time flirting with male customers, checking their phones, than serving their bar. We were shooed away from every seat we tried to take in a near empty bar (reserved) but never provided with an alternative. I will never return to this place. Customer service must have been omitted from their training. - Towne stinks
Towne hits it – Spectacular space, Lydia & Jasper have teamed up to make a destination restaurant. Lobster popovers are addicting, wood fired rotisserie rib roast brings "prime rib" to a new level, whole grilled whole fish mediteranian style. Lots of energy, visually stimulating... Wine list compact and very reasonable. Three bars, three dining rooms on two floors. Soaring ceilings and windows. Something for everyone, bar downstairs gets crowded and loud.
Manager is an Ass – I like the concept and the atmosphere but the front door manager (tall, skinny face) is an ass. Loose the attitude and take care of your patrons. Understandably people try to get in without waiting but if you actually listen to what they have to say and not pre-judge you would make more patrons happier. Also, when your own staff rips you, there is a problem.

The tall, colorful menus (four to juggle: bar bites, full dinner, cocktails and wine) echo the tall, colorful rooms and are dotted with international flags designating the far-flung and disparate origins of many dishes. Chef Jasper White’s lobste... read more
Funky, global menu livens up Hynes Convention Center. – Housed within the Hynes Convention Center, Towne (a three-storied production of the Lyons Group, with a kitchen helmed by Boston powerhouse chefs Lydia Shire and Jasper White) dishes a cheeky menu with oodles of lobster, beef and eclectic takes on American classics.
