A Place that Gives Back! Towne Crier is in the middle of a strip mall. It is a pub/restaurant that has a following for their broasted chicken. My kids loved the broasted chicken, while I thought the chicken strips were from a frozen package and deep fried. The evening that we were there, they were having a fund raiser for a hometown guy with cancer. We were impressed that the Towne Crier was giving back to their community so intimately. We also hope the guy with cancer is having a speedy recovery.
Broasted! We stopped in on a recommendation from a local and were pretty impressed with the famous "broasted chicken" -- fried, but not too greasy. I'd definitely go back.
A nice neighborhood bar I like the Town Crier, mostly because it is really laid back. It's not too noisy, and they have GREAT food. It's worth it to just eat there. It's pretty dark inside, as bars go. They have I believe one, maybe two pool tables (don't quote me on that) and a number of video games. It's located in an older downtown mall area, and as such, is somewhat out of place, but I think that's what makes it such a nice place to get away from the usual bar scene.
