I've been trying to track down an old 401(k) account that allegedly got transferred to TouchStone. The woman on the phone tried her best to help me. But the ultimate solution is me sending a "letter of instruction" to their "back office" to get more information regarding my account. It's 2026, why dont you have updated systems to easily keep track of people's accounts.
They are polite and competent at their overseas call centers but it is so tedious to reach them and I seem to always be locked out of an account I have had for years. I appreciate security but don't understand why this access issue doesn't exist at any of my other brokerages.
Wish I could give zero stars. I received an email prompting me to log into my account. After resetting my password and receiving a 4-digit PIN via text, the system still wouldn’t allow access. I called customer service for help and was met with complete incompetence. The first representative was unhelpful and, frankly, ignorant—claiming they “could not find” a supervisor. Terrible customer service. I have called multiple times to get records for court requested documents to close an estate account and they have either not sent the documents or sent an envelope with nothing in it. Each time I’m told it will get corrected in a timely fashion then later find out they never sent the requested documents or it will be another 7-10 business days.
