My experience with Total Care Veterinary was extremely disappointing. I brought my dog in for a blood draw and made it very clear to two different people beforehand that he has a heart condition and is easily stressed. Despite this, he was taken to the back where I wasn't allowed to be with him. When he returned, he had bandages on both front legs because blood had been drawn from both arms after he struggled, even though he had been sedated. My first visit and they provided excellent service on my standard poodle who ended up up having an upper leg infection due to a very difficult to find foxtail in his upper leg. The surgery went very well and his recovery is progressing excellent. They are a smaller vet with a very friendly and accommodating staff which I like. I would highly recommend them and intend to use them in the future

If there is a better veterinary practice in the Bay Area, I have not found it. TotalCare Veterinary and Surgical Center in South San Francisco is extraordinary from the front desk to the exam room. Kleidy is the kind of person who makes you feel seen the second you walk in. Amy has the rare gift of being warm and efficient at the same time. Terry makes the whole place feel like somewhere you actually want to be, which is not something I ever expected to say about a vet’s office. imho Dr. Del Castillo and Dr. Wu are brilliant... read more
