Brought a friend in with an anaphylactic allergy… It was a weeknight and the ER wasn’t busy. Everything moved rapidly and care was kind. We were shocked that everything happened so quickly - less than 5 hours seems like record timing (epinephrine, Reactine, steroids, bloodwork). One nurse was Andrew and he was a complete delight amongst the chaos of the ER. I had an extremely concerning experience at this ER. I arrived at 9:00 PM with seizure symptoms and an inability to speak, yet I was told at triage that my condition was "not urgent." I wasn't discharged until 6:00 AM the following morning—a 9-hour ordeal with very little action taken. The facility itself felt unclean and did not provide a sense of safety. Excellent experience. I came in Toronto Western Hospital on March 7, 2026 at 08:00 and I was really well taken care off. The nurses, the doctor and the ultrasound technician were amazing. They were kind, explained me every procedure and reasonings and kept me updated. It was 5 hours total: arriving at the emergency, registration at the front desk, triage, initial assessment, lab exams, imaging and leaving the hospital with my prescription and all the orientations.
