The portrait that Steven painted of my mother was done from a photo, but it transcends that medium and brings my mother's spirit right into the room. I commissioned the portrait to give to my father, who was in hospital and alone for many hours every day. It gave him a focus and helped him to feel loved. My father wanted us to share the portrait once he had gone; no one person should keep it, but rather Mum's love should shine on us all. I am so grateful to Steven for transforming my father's last days with his painting.

Steven is a genuine, wonderful and talented soul! His work is bright and beautiful and so reflective of the personality of the people he paints. I asked him to paint a portrait of two people I care about deeply and he made them shine. Such wonderful work! Such a wonderful experience working with you Steven! Thank you!

All throughout my process with Steven, he showed absolute care, professionalism and kindness. From communication, to choosing the reference image and even how to reveal the painting, I felt absolutely at ease. Steven's was thorough, patient and made me feel informed and confident during the entire process. Not only is he a wonderful person, but he is highly skilled, and the painting I received was stunning. I cannot recommend Steven enough!

I could not be more pleased with the portrait that Steven created for us. The process felt truly collaborative - from selecting an image to work from to determining size and scale, Steven was patient and open throughout. The image that we chose is a very closely held favourite, and I have to admit I was a little leery about letting it out into the world, but the result is very pleasing. Steven is a sensitive and talented artist, and that sensitivity and talent shine in the finished work.
