We had a great time kayaking, the staff was very helpful and welcoming. I was happy because there wasn't aligators and we enjoyed looking at the birds and manatees. The current on the day we went was really calm and pedaling was easy.
Interesting that my review brings me to Topwater Kayak Outpost. My reservations were made thru Fort De Soto web site. I would definitely not make reservations through Fort De Soto web site. Just show up to Topwater Kayak Outpost and go Kayaking. First the Fort De soto web site sends you to the wrong address and second they are more expensive. $10 more plus a service tax fee ($45 total) . I had a fantastic time. The place I rented my kayak from was helpful and friendly. The whole experience made me want to come back and being my girlfriend and friends.
Friendly staff and a great resource to be able to use. I saw Manatees, Osprey, small sharks, sting ray, flounder and got a great workout. I would highly recommend.
The outing was great and the staff was very helpful. The only complaint is that these kayaks are not great. We would have liked to go out further but the kayak is just a basic kayak...not great for longer distances at all.
