Matilda was so great! I appreciate her letting us launch my personal kayak here since we rented one for my husband. Saved us a lot of extra hassle in the heat! She was very savvy on the animals in the area as well. We had a great paddle and can't wait to come back! So grateful they were able to reopen after the hurricane.
Beautiful place but there is no quiet time. Loud music everywhere!!

We had such a lovely day at Fort De Soto Beach. It was great to be able to rent chairs and an umbrella, and everyone was so cordial, both the employees and the other guests.
This is still a good option for putting in a personal kayak and exploring the island. Plenty of parking and a sand beach to launch from. Watch out for manatee.
