My parents moved into Topeka Presbyterian Manor Assisted Living in November. I can’t tell you what peace of mind it is when my mom says “Everyone is so nice here! They take really good care of me. The food is even good too!” My dad talks about the friends he has made. The great physical therapy he gets. And that he still gets to enjoy the outdoors by walking down to the pond. I started volunteering at the Presbyterian Manor about 7 months ago. A friend asked me to join her in singing for the two worship services on Fridays. While I had hoped the residents enjoyed the music, I was the one who left with a profound feeling of joy. The smiles, appreciation and connections made in that short time, were powerful gifts given to me. The experience of singing, opened my eyes to other volunteering opportunities as well. This Facility is definitely the best facility I have worked at through my agency, the only thing I don't like is that staff has to pay to have a meal, other than that i would highly recommend this facility to your loved ones. The permanent employees here are so sweet and friendly.
