I was in need of having my Fireplace and wood burning stove inspected and cleaned. I stopped by the Top Hat Show Case store and gave the representative my name and contact number to have these services performed The gentleman at the counter said I would be contacted in a day or two to have the visit scheduled. Top Hat came out to my house for 5 minutes and said we need a new remote for our fireplace and said that will be $210. My husband asked why so expensive since the service guy didn’t do anything and he was told that price covers the cost of them coming back to fix it that someone will call us back with the price of the new remote. Recently purchased a home with Top Hat installed gas logs. They had serviced and cleaned just a few months ago for previous owners and was working when sold 3 months ago in October. I was not able to light it in December. Requested an educational vist. I was told it would cost 210.00 for a service call. I did not schedule a visit at this price!
