Tony C's Coal Fired Pizza

About this business

Tony C's serves up Austin's Original and Only Coal Fired pizza as well as pasta, salads, sandwiches, gelato, and more in a modern and inviting atmosphere. When Italian Immigrants first came to New York City in the late 19th century they used coal as it's heating source because of it's Availability and low cost. Anthracite coal burns twice as hot as wood producing an evenly cooked crust with caramelized toppings. Anthracite coal burns cleaner than wood and is environmentally friendly.

Austin's Best Pizza – Best pizza, best prices love the gelato. We've been to Tony C's dozens of times and always enjoy the food.

Disappointing – Our family was disappointed by the staff and also the quality of food at Tony C's. First, the hostess refused to sit us a table we requested (it remained empty the entire time we ate dinner.) We ordered the Margherita pizza, but found the tomatoes on the pizza without flavor, the quality of the cheese was questionable and the crust was a also a bit soggy. It was far from "authentic" New York style pizza- If you want great pizza in Austin, go to Home Slice- it cant be beat!

5 Stars for Authentic Pizza – Tony C knows what pizza was meant to be. For those of us who have traveled around the world, this is as close to the authentic design as you will find outside of New York or Naples. I recommend the original Margherita, commonly spelled Margarita these days. The crust is crisp and the pizza is hot and flavorful. Although Tony's sells pizza by the slice, there is nothing like ordering an entire fresh pie! The home made caesar salad is solid and the atmosphere is friendly, including an indoor/outdo... read more

This is absolutely the best pizza in Texas. The crust is thin, light and crispy, and the choices for toppings are abundant. This pizza compares to Lombardi's in NYC!!!!! The Garlic knots are also wonderful and reheat well at home. The manager, Mark, was so gracious as well as his staff. All seem to be a "real team". There were 4 of us and all of us raved about this restaurant. Thanks to Dr. Rob Balon that we heard about it and drove over 70 miles to get there.Absolutely excellent...

Great Pizza – Service is decent. Bartender could use a personality. Staff has always been pleasant, but most of the time we pick up and take home.

Disappointed – Had lunch today at Tony C's. It's in a good location, next to movie theatre. Atmosphere is nice as well as the staff. I was disappointed that when our pizza's arrived, they had parmesan cheese sprinkled over our entire pizzas! We hate parmesan cheese! They have it available on the tables for those that do like it to use. We did not order it on our "made-to-order" pizzas. May not seem a big deal to those who like it, but it changes the entire taste of the pizza. Could not taste the pizza. I asked the waitress a... read more

rude manager nice staff – this guy totally lacks any interpersonal skills and puts out an attitude that he doesn't care if you're happy or not; or if you even come back for that matter. thanks to our waitress we will go back but have a feeling she won't be there. she continually apologized for his missteps and related to his crassness...the pizza is really amazing and they one of the best house and ceaser salads i've ever had. get the proscuito and goat cheese pizza! amazing. just hope all goes well and you don't have to enc... read more

Terrible Pizza – Went yesterday and the pizza was terrible. It was cold and the service was sub par. I wouldn't go back. Not worth the money. Too many other places to choose from in the area.

Nice Bartenders – This place has great bartenders and waitresses. On a Sat. nite they have DJ music and on one particular nite somone was having a party, it was packed, music was good, food a little above sub-standard. The only problem my 6 friends and I saw was the Manager, big guy with glasses, he was yelling at everyone because it was time to close. We were all just trying to get our tabs signed and could not help that the bartenders were very busy and doing the best they could. The whole time this guy was yelling to stop... read more
