The absolute best place to spend a Saturday night, Mr. Messina and Angel's staff treat you like family, and the food is fantastic. Miss you Mr. Tony, you will always be in our hearts.
Tony Angello. The owner of Tony Angello's Ristorante has died at the age of 88... He opened in 1972 in a Lakeview residential neighborhood.... he made it possible for everyone to have the feel of a good ol' Italian welcoming... I always thought of it as "The hidden gem of New Orleans." I went there for special occasions and always had a fantastic time. I will miss his Italian style of embracement he gave to the City of New Orleans. May God embrace him and enjoy his Italian companionship up in heaven as well..
We have been enjoying Tony's delicious food for 42 years. The food was as good tonight as it was the first time we ate there. Always a real treat!
