Cardiothoracic surgery and the subsequent recovery is no joke. I felt confidence sending my husband into this surgery because I knew he had the best of the best operating on him. Blessed is the best description I can use for getting to have Dr. Martin as his surgeon. Dr. Martin is patient, kind and extremely passionate about his work. Dr. Thomas Martin recently performed a second aortic valve replacement for me, a procedure that involved a complete reconstruction of the aortic root. The surgery was significantly more complex than a standard valve replacement due to the fact that it was a re-operation. You must get an opinion from Dr Tomas Martin before proceeding with any major cardio-thoracic surgery. He will open your eyes to making an extremely well-educated decision about proceeding with surgery or not. I have a 5.6 cm aortic aneurysm that all medical practitioners stated I needed to have my aorta replaced. This included two cardio-thoracic surgeons who spent very little time explaining the procedure and the possible negative outcomes. I want to give Dr Martin and his team a very special shout out. I had open heart surgery on September 25 th. I am doing great. He prayed with me before surgery. I thought that was fantastic.
