I switched to Tohickon about 5 years ago and from the doctor’s, nurses to the receptionist staff I have never had such a comprehensive and personable experience. My primary, Tom Speranger, not only listens and diagnoses but educates as well. I always feel informed and taken care of. Even paying my bill is a pleasant experience. Highly recommend!!
My doctor of 20 years recently closed his practice so I was searching for a new doctor. I have a condition that is treated with a prescribed controlled substance. When I called Tohickon Internal Medicine to see if they were accepting new patients, the receptionist said they could get me in within a couple weeks. I have to get referrals for doctors appointments for my doctors visits according to my insurance. Literally only 50% of the referrals do they actually patch through to my doctors. Then when I’m at said doctors appointments, they cannot see me unless i have a referral. So then I call the office to rectify said situations. Only to find that they keep increasing their “Lunch Hours”. They literally turn their lines off from 11:45-1:30p every day for a lunch break. I just left this practice after being a patient for close to 10 years. The reason being that Dr. Shtern was awful to deal with. I felt such a dismissiveness about her. She was trying to push her own agenda on me in my last appointment. She completely lacks empathy and is difficult. I felt pummeled by her and left there feeling horrible and on the verge of tears.
