I never thought I'd be into tofu but im absolutely addicted to the wood ear tofu salad amongst other offerings. Please get the wood ear salad at more places in berkely and oakland, I buy it every time i see it!
My Husband and I are OBSESSED with Tofu-Yu Tofu Veggie Balls! We would get them at the Grand Lake Farmer's Market and keep them stocked in our freezer to have on hand for the perfect 'emergency' food. Late at night in the midst of packing our apartment the night before moving we were once again saved by the balls! We had already packed most of our kitchen, no problem - we popped them in the toaster oven and then wrapped them in lettuce leaves with cucumber, carrots and sweet chili pepper sauce. After going vegan somethings you just learn to live without....But pesto is not one of them! The tofu pesto is genuinely AMAZING! My tastebuds thank you!!!
Rating is for the experience, not the tofu. I've never had, nor will I ever have it even if it's awesome. Horrible first (and last) experience with Tofu Yu at Marin Farmers Market. Rude, never looked up, said he doesn't need to give samples of the plain tofu because they sell out "based on our reputation" (never heard of you; great job). Instead of engaging with me, he said he didn't care and treated me terribly. Good luck with that "reputation".
