I had cervical spinal stenosis with myopathy. Dr. Bonvallet felt I would be an excellent candidate for a 3 disc replacement, instead of a cervical spine fusion, but told me it was nearly impossible to get three approved as 2 is FDA Approved. However, when my insurance company denied the procedure, Dr. Bonvallet appealed and somehow got my insurance to approve a three disc arthroplasty. I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Todd Bonvallet, MD. I was referred to him because of ongoing back pain from a slip and fall I had while pregnant, which caused disc bulges at L4-L5 and L5-S1. I went to the appointment hoping to discuss my pain, treatment options, and long-term care. Unfortunately, Dr. Bonvallet was dismissive and rude throughout the visit. I have suffered from back pain since 2011 from military and life injuries. I have done everything from injections, therapy, ablations etc. The VA was no help. I was referred to Dr Bonvallet on 3 separate occasions from different facilities. I have been told to never get a back surgery because it never works. Well I'm here to tell you that it does. Excellent doctor. Explained thoroughly and answered all questions. Visited every day while in hospital after surgery. My wife went from being in a wheelchair and not being able to walk to 3 months later walking with a walker. Highly recommend.
