Interesting take on breakfast here. Very tasty. I'd describe it as traditional with a twist.
Lovely setting but overpriced - $126 for two drinks, an appetizer and two entrées. Did not like the automatic gratuity or the little explanation cards, which felt like a towel notice at a hotel. Food took forever to arrive. Service was arrogant. I won't be coming back.
Toast could be, and should be, such a better restaurant than it is. It does a great job of branding itself -- nice website, nice looking menus, nice interior decor. Need I also say that they have an amazing patio space on the corner of Chabot and College -- prime Rockridge restaurant real Estate. However, none of that stuff matters when you cook bad food.
