Honestly I had a really good experience with TMG. I lived in one of their apartments for two years and they were always communicative and maintained the building nicely. I’m mostly leaving this review to compliment Sabrina though! She was really easy to work with while I lived in their property, and flexible and respectful to me as a tenant when it came to showing my apartment. Thanks Sabrina!!
It used to be nice. Originally I was very satisfied with TMG, but they do the bare minimum in terms of upkeep and let The Ivy get dingy. I was the first to move into The Ivy after a significant rehab — the building was beautiful, clean, and actually had ivy growing on it. A few issues right off the bat: 1) They advertised units at ~800 sq ft; mine measured closer to 518. 2) They dismantled and locked down the rooftop — tragic and seemingly an economical decision. 3) They don't provide window treatments! I recently moved into a property that TMG manages and, I have to say, they are the BEST property management company I have ever experienced. There were a few hiccups which, naturally come up when someone is living in a place for the first time. They have really bent over backwards for me, treating me like I am their only client. Ryan was SO incredibly helpful with setting up my door bird (security system) and he even came to the building to help with the setup. Incredible! I've rented with TMG management for two years across two different properties and in both cases buildings were well-maintained and in good shape. When things like washing machines break or malfunction, they are quick to put in a work order to fix or replace the building. Most of all, TMG are really responsive and helpful over email and phone - any questions I had I always found someone able to help out. Zuly Ruvalcaba managed the properties I rented and was extremely helpful.
What a joy this company is to work with - super clean buildings in great Chicago neighborhoods and first class management!
