a class of spanish culture in a LA town – when this place opened I heard from a friend that it was breaking in - there were problems and it needed time. As someone who works in the restaurant industry and someone whom has opened three huge clubs in los angeles, this restaurant is ready for its opening the staff is friendly and helpful. The interior is beautiful, like a forgotten gem in the extension of a castle. the food and wine are exceptional. they have chosen to be quite proud of spanish wines in a california culture and... read more
Authentic Spanish Experience – A Spanish friend invited me to Tinto for late night tapas the other night. As soon as we arrived, I felt transported back to my days of studying abroad in Barcelona. The father/ daughter team was very gracious and welcoming. The place is nicely designed, but not over the top trendy or gimmicky. Similarly, the food and drink were very authentic - simple, good ingredients put together in the traditional manner without trying to be anything more. I recognized just about everything on the menu. Excellent – Wow!!!! To those that wrote bad reviews in the last few days. Come on guys. It's way too obvious you're trying to hurt this restaurant for no reason!!! Mind your business and back off. Tinto speaks for itself. Maybe you should know that Tinto is being awarded with a West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Creative Business Award in the Restaurant category. I am a patron so are all my friends and co-workers and we LOVE IT!!!
We went back to Tinto last week since a friend told us that they had added a few dishes to their menu. The hostess remembered us and welcomed us with a great smile. That is always appreciated. No LA attitude. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We had almejas, patatas bravas and paella. Wow!!! I really love this place. Everything was great. We are going back to celebrate my wife?s birthday.
Great Sangria! – I was a bit hesitant on trying this place because I had read some bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised - first of all, the service is quite attentive and warm (so I'm surprised about the service complaints), second, the pitcher of sangria was like a neverending spring of sangria and was quite tasty, and third, the space was very cozy and festive (a bit loud) - but hey, it's a tapas joint, so you can't really expect it to be quiet. However, I have the agree, the food is just ok. We had the following: -... read more
Great Food, Where's the Bread? – A group of us went to Tinto Saturday night- we made reservations and were seated right away. Service was a bit slow but once we ordered, the food arrived promptly. We ordered a pitcher of the white sangria- It was light but the two drinkers amongst us drank most of it and didn't even get buzzed. The tapas were great- we tried many (these are small, small plates, even for tapas IMHO) of the standards- the mushrooms were tasty, the albondigas were a bit dry, the jumbo scallops were sweet and co... read more
Great Tapas – My boyfriend and I had heard about tinto from a friend. The decor is very cozy. I have to say we had a great time. We went on a Tuesday for our one year anniversary. The owner came to our table to and brought us a glass of sherry wine. I guess our waitress had told him it was our anniversary. We tried the patatas bravas, gambas ajilo and paella and it was delicious.
Great service, so-so food... – A group of friends and I had dinner at Tinto on Saturday night. The ambiance inside is amazing - dark and atmospheric like a bar in Europe. The service was also fantastic - the waitress was very (almost too) attentive and the owner spoke to us a few times. Although the food wasn't bad, I wouldn't say it was fantastic. The paella was definitely overcooked, although the albondigas were tasty. The food is definitely above-average, but not worth the prices that are charged, in my opinon. In additio... read more
Great atmosphere! Romantic! On the pricey side but worth every dollar. – it was recommended by a friend. Good authentic tapas. I loved every one of the server's recommendations. The valet parking is a little confusing though. You have to drive past the restaurant a few stores to get to the valet.
