At Tin Star Smokehouse, we created our own brand of Barbeque for the Colorado area. We drew inspiration from the different style from across the country. Our menu has all your favorites too. Great sandwiches, and the best cheese fries ever. Period. – So, I'm not sure if we're talking about the sam Tatum's as the angry guy, but the one in Golden next to 7-11, is fantastic! They are always so nice, and the food is great. They have a variety of sandwiches and the cheesteaks are unbeatable. Try the Smiler- it sounds weird but it's a terrific combo. They do get busy because they are so good, but it's certainly worth the wait. I highly recommend it!
Tatum's - - I dig it the most – When I used to go to Bilg's, I thought I had found the very best cheese steak in town. Don't get me wrong, I still think that's true, but now that it's Tatum's it has become so much more. The menu has expanded to include great Muffaletta's, awesome stromboli's (you have to try their new Cheese Steak Stromboli, bring a friend, it's huge!), burgers, fresh salads, and they have even added the authentic (made with Cheez Whiz) version of the Cheese Steak for which they are so well known. Long wait, lousy customer service – I used to enjoy this place quite a bit years ago, but had a pretty bad experience today. Went and ordered a cheese-steak for dine in, then waited for 20 min, the girl that took our order then came and said that our ticket had been lost, so she retook our order. OK thats fine, sh*t happens, I understand. But there were a few key points that made the situation unacceptable. That 45min wait guy must have eaten somewhere else... Tatums is AWSOME!!!! – The cheesesteaks and Italian subs really are like the east coast! You can also get Tastycakes and Taylor porkroll! The staff is cool, plus they are COP friendly! It's the corner deli! Only thing missing is the fat Italian guy throwing around pizza dough. Hahaha! "Ok... a number one... and a liter of cola. Its for a COP." Not at Tatums!
Excellent Cheesesteaks – I go to Tatum's at least one a week and the cheesesteaks taste just like I remember from Philly. They also make homemade desserts and I just recently tried the pumpkin cheesecake - it was perfect!
Best Sub shop that I've eaten – I have only eaten there twice. Both times food was Awesome. Love there homemade chip. I didn't have to wait 30-45 minutes more like 10 minutes. If you are expecting Subway or Quiznos speed of service then go there, but if you are wanting a great sandwich it's worth the few minutes wait. Also, I just asked them to fax over and order form so that I could call in an order and the fax came right away.
If you have 45 minutes to waste, it's worth trying. – Average wait for your takeout order is 30-45 minutes. And calling ahead will get you nowhere. They're really disorganized here. Good food and nice people, though.
