Most reliable, honest, and thorough mechanic in Anchorage.
We sent our vehicle to Timi’s Alpina after replacing the spark plugs ourselves twice within the last year. When it happened a third time, we figured something bigger must be wrong. We explained the situation to the owner, hoping our concern would be taken seriously—that simply replacing the spark plugs wouldn’t fix the underlying issue. While he did say the spark plugs would have a 1-year warranty if they failed again, I wish he had listened more closely to our concerns at the start. We had a terrible experience with this auto repair shop. We brought our car in because the check engine light was on. We explained the symptoms we were experiencing to the owner, who diagnosed it as an alternator issue and charged us over $800 for the repair. A few days later, the check engine light came back on with the same error. We took the car back to the shop, and the owner suggested we buy spark plug wires from an auto parts store and replace them.
