Im a 70ish senior. Was having osteoarthritis knee pain treated with gel injections for 3 years. It was a bandaid treatment that didn't alleviate the recurring pain or increasing loss of stability. My doc wanted to do a "traditional" knee replacement about which I had heard horror stories about cut tendons, muscles, and long painful recovery. My online research revealed the Jiffyknee program. Dr. Kavanaugh did my knee replacement on March 8, 2023. The post op was terrible, and the 2 hour wait was unacceptable. I still have terrible pain and problems standing up and walking. I was a very active person, including golf, and now all I do is sit in a chair.
Dr. Kavanaugh is an excellent surgeon, I had less pain in my shoulder right after the surgery than before I had the shoulder replacement; it feels wonderful. All though; I was not pleased with the way I was rushed around the morning of surgery, herded like sheep to slaughter, and the nurse that kept slapping me awake and trying to throw me out the door; had I not been so sedated she would have a black eye, I did not like that at all.
This was my first visit so I'm sure we will get to 5 . You listen and took the time to explain and to show me the x-rays which I've never had anyone share that. You have a Wonderful sense of humor and I Love that!!! At the end of the day you understand the importance of laughter. Thank you and I'm looking forward to working with you over the next few months!
Just needed a cortisone injection and he’s always so nice and easy to work with!
