I am extremely disappointed with my experience at The Tilden Hotel. After checking in, I dropped off my luggage and left the hotel for about an hour to do some shopping. When I returned to my room, I found TWO ROACHES—one crawling on the bed and another crawling on my luggage. Given the obvious cleanliness and pest concerns, I immediately gathered my belongings, checked out, and requested that a manager contact me regarding the situation. Room had a paper thing joining door to another room which I wasn't told about and wasn't shown in the listing. Guest in the adjoining room tried to forcefully open the door. I asked to end my stay early and they refused to give a partial refund despite them violating the terms of the stay as it pertains to guest safety.
The sheets were clean but the room was dated and felt dirty. The staff was kind. The elevator is tiny and terrifying, but there are lovely judgemental signs encouraging you to take the stairs. If you're in a low floor, forget about sleep and try to enjoy the symphony of the city's sirens. I had to sleep in my office. I vowed never to return.
Poor WiFi in the rooms, I wasn’t able to work.
