Contacted Tietze plumbing to come out and give me an estimate on to install a water softener that we had purchased for install in our home, which is pre plumbed. Tietze wanted $814 for the installation. This price is simply absurd. Other plumbers in the area want at maximum, $400. For this 5 minute estimate, they attempted to charge us a $49 "service fee". Our prices are flat rate based on a national average. The recording was simply for quality assurance. We are transparent and upfront with all costs. There are no hidden fees. We will waive the service call fee, however, we want to make sure we are following protocol in our communication to our customers. We have never "strong armed" our customers.
