My psychiatrist is the best! It took me a long time to find someone that has the ability to explain my diagnosis in a way that I can actually apply it to daily life and begin my healing. Although she’s not a therapist she has the gift of playing a dual role which has been vital to my healing process. Not only is she unaware of the side effects of the medication she prescribes, she seems to be proud of her lack of knowledge. She says that knowing what a medication could do to you it's the job of a pharmacist, not a psychiatrist. To me, it seems bizarre that that's not the job of the person recommending and authorizing a medication. I don't understand what the job of the psychiatrist would be beyond that and she never elaborated. I've never had a previous psychiatrist make that sort of claim.
