Dr. Thurgood failed to seek informed consent for medical treatment for me. He failed to provide adequate pain management and began suturing me up without being numb and did not provide adequate after hours care in an emergency situation. His staff was unprofessional, he attempted to withhold my medical records and failed to take any responsibility for the significant complications I had experienced. Getting my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Thurgood was a horrific experience. Despite having called the office to inform them of my anxiety, Dr. Thurgood ignored it completely and refused to acknowledge my questions. It took him nine attempts to place my IV, and each time he became progressively more frustrated, throwing his hands in the air and muttering under his breath that it was not working. My son has now had 3 surgeries with Dr. Thurgood. He's a good surgeon & his office is very professional, nice, clean & hygienic.

We would recommend Dr Thurgood. However, make sure you know your insurance! Dr Thurgood is a premier provider for Delta Dental but NOT a Delta PPO provider, costing my 19 year old son over $600. We saw Dr. Thurgood on the Delta website but were not aware that it's a different set of providers if you pay more premium for the Delta PPO.
