While this hospital struggles like so many others with ‘hallway medicine’, low variety of treatment options given its resources, and staff shortages, in my experience it’s also very ill equipped to handle surgery mishaps. Had surgery in Feb 2. Trying to get in touch with the fracture clinic to make a follow up appointment is ridiculous. Been call in for almost 4 hours and get told the number exceed the queue for calls. Try again
I just received a phone call from my nephrologist informing me that he is being forced to close his practice by the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. I am extremely angry and deeply disappointed by this decision. Given the already critical state of the Canadian healthcare system, it is unacceptable that bureaucracy continues to take precedence over patient care. Hospitals and clinics need to stop allowing administrative decisions to dictate outcomes and start making people’s health their number one priority.
Very professional staff in the labour and delivery department. Everything flowed smoothly, minimal wait and clean facilities.
