I am very pleased with the Memory Care Unit at Palmilla. We have a terrible experience with another facility and were concerned when we first moved mom here because there were 3 directors of the unit in 3 or 4 months. However, Pat, the current diector has been at Palmilla over a year. She has gotten the progam running smoothly, deeply cares about the patients, and is extremely professional. Thank you Palmilla for hiring a skilled professional. D. Cook
Communication with family members is very poor. My mother was in memory care there and she was sent to the hospital emergency department with out notifying the family. She was in the hospital for 5 hours before the family knew anything about it. When we moved her out of Southview, the staff was very unprofessional. They avoided us and did not even have the courtesy to ask how mom was or to even offer well wishes.

RecommendedMy husband, who is very young was diagnosed with frontal temporal dementia. We have been side-by-side, running a business, having a home, three kids, six grandchildren for the last 25 years. My decision to put him at the Lone Mountain Memory Care facility was extremely difficult for all of us. RecommendedWe moved my Mom to Dougherty Ferry Assisted Living after she couldn't live in an independent community anymore. It was a tough decision but after meeting with Andy and Mary Jane, we knew we were making the right decision. The entire staff is wonderful and the facility is clean, bright and lively. Our minds are at ease knowing she's safe and getting the care she needs.
RecommendedThis is as close as you can get to being at home while living in a retirement center. The staff has been wonderful and every day is filled with surprises. Residents are universally interactive and friendly and scheduled activities make sure that life is interesting and fun.

I was visiting my grandparents today, I was appalled with the situation in the dining room. My grandparents expressed how unhappy they have been with the changes in the dining service. When we went there for dinner, my elderly grandparents were expected to serve themselves through a buffet style. AND THE FOOD WAS COLD. I want to know how they expect my grandparents to be able to serve themselves and make it to a table when they use a walker. My grandparents barely ate anything due to the quality of the food.
