My experience with Thornbury at Chase Oaks was frustrating from start to finish. It took approximately a month to find out whether I was approved because applications and leases had to go through an off-site compliance team. After being approved, I never received a move-in confirmation and was later told my application had been canceled despite having a signed lease. I had to fight to get the situation corrected. Extremely frustrating experience with the leasing team. They never mentioned the Essential Living Program before we applied and paid the fees. Only after applying did they tell us we were overqualified and that the rent would increase by $300. We wasted both time and money because this important information was not disclosed upfront. Very disappointing and frustrating experience. Please be careful and ask about all programs, eligibility requirements, and the actual rent before applying.
They haven’t even replied to us, and we already paid the application fee. I went to the leasing office, and the assistant manager—or at least I believe she was—was an older Caucasian woman who was giving an older Asian man a really bad attitude. She even asked him, “Do you speak English?” That was so rude and completely unnecessary. I guess it’s actually a good thing we didn’t end up pursuing this place.
