Dr Burke has been my Bella angels” vet from the time she was 5 months old until she crossed over at age 9 yrs 6 months (again with Dr Burke and staff) Bella was a special pup - a mobility service dog who was by my side 24/7. Thoreau ‘s staff is compassionate, empathetic, and always willing to go the xtra mile for their patients and pet parents. I would never go anywhere else - even though I moved out of Palmer. This practice is worth the trip!
Dr. Burke, Larry, Karen and staff have always provided the highest quality of care to my dogs and cats. They are second to none. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Highly recommend
Dr. Valdes, Mandy, And Karen were all so warm and welcoming for our first visit. I loved how well they handled my dogs and provided so much care to them. They also took time to thoroughly review each dog’s chart so they knew each dog’s history. They also provided me with a lot of helpful information, including ways to cut costs on heart work and flea and tick medications. The doctors and technicians are friendly and caring. But most importantly, they know their veterinary medicine. I feel very confident. I have had Dr. Burke in the past, and of course, she is wonderful. Most recently, we have been seeing Dr. Stiles who we are also confident about. Thoreau is just 5 minutes from our home so the convenience is what first brought us there. Their knowledge and pet-parent-caring is what keeps us there.
We were very impressed with Dr. Burke and her staff. I was very leery about getting our sassy cat her shots and exam. I was amazed at the patience that was shown to our cat "Shyanne." This was our first complete exam that Shyanne allowed to be done. Love this place. Will definitely come back! Thank-you Dr. Burke and Mandy.
For the third time in three weeks we were able to be seen right away. Big helpful extensive staff, compassionate people. Met the new Dr. Valdez and we are so very impressed. Thank you Thoreau for countless times you have helped our pets when in trouble. They are adding more hours and they are an actual hospital. They care about commonsense natural solutions when available.
