Beautiful facility marred by spotty service – I booked this hotel after reading rave reviews. They were wrong. The hotel itself is beautiful and luxurious, the service was spotty. When I checked in, they asked for a credit card to secure any use of amenities. I provided my card. They told me it was their policy to automatically charge $150 to the card "for security purposes" and that I would be refunded the $150 when I checked out. A wonderful hotel always – I have stayed here several times. The hotel is a great location for Oak Street shopping and Rush Street Bars. Rooms are very large and the bathrroms are very large with a great shower.. Service is fantastic. The Whiskey bar is always a good time.
For those who want an intimate urban environment. – The Scene Despite changing ownership, Sutton Place kept many of its special features, such as the sleek black-marble lobby and four-story atrium. It's also hung onto the junior suites with separate sitting areas and the deluxe penthouse suites. Michigan Avenue shopping is right outside the door, and the business Loop is only minutes away. Shhhh ... Keep the Secret – This place is great. Perfect location ... within stumbling distance of lots of fun bars. Shop til you drop on North Michigan. The rooms are great ... spacious and comfortable -- ask for an upgrade to the junior suite. Nice and quite. There's a reason visiting sports teams stay here. Oh, and the Whiskey is right off the lobby. Does it get any better?
Well kept secret – I'd never of Sutton Place hotels until my dad stayed there for business in Chicago. Amazing. Clean, sophisticated, perfect location. I loved it. They should do some more advertising to spread the word, but while the secret is still intact, I definitely recommend this place to business and leisure travelers.
