I have severe dental anxiety and autism. This place only made the anxiety worse. The staff are very sweet but Dr. Laneve is not. My first appointment he yelled at the technician. I explain my anxieties and my priorities to deal with my TMJ and misalignment. It goes ignored. All he wants to do is replace my existing fillings and charge me thousands for it. At one point he replaced a large filling and stated to the technician in front of me “This is probably going to fail.” At that point I did not come back.
Everyone is in this office is amazing! They have taken care of me since I started as a patient and when I had pain they got me in immediately. They're all so nice and professional!
The exam room was dirty, the utensils he used was what I considered was taken out of a dirty tray. I was overcharged for things I didn't receive. I contacted my insurance company and they got it right, and I didn't see that receptionist anymore. Dr. Laneve took my brace off which had my saliva in it and didn't wash it off before putting it back in my mouth. Dr. Laneve has been our family dentist for the last 7 years and we have found him to be friendly, competent, and pragmatic. He has never pushed procedures upon me, but will mention potential problems during my exam and cleaning. I appreciate a proactive approach, as it can save you money and pain. I also have the ability to say NO or go for a second opinion. When I needed a couple of root canals, Dr. Laneve referred me to Dr. Tobey , who is probably the best endodontist in Dayton. It took this dentist 6 months to decide if I would need a root canal or not. I went through a lot of pain. Finally decided I got my root canal done at another place as recommended by them since my insurance has not their referral in their network. Now done with the root canal they won't treat me anymore, sending me a letter that I should find a new dental provider since the patient doctor relationship isn't in good terms anymore.
