They charge $50 for a estimate. Estimates are not free so I cancelled the appointment when I was told this. After cancelation of appointment they harassed called me to reschedule. When I cancelled I said I would call back later to reschedule if I wanted to, obviously if I don't. I don't. I worked in customer service and in the medical field, you never call a person back about rescheduling more than once and only need to leave 1 voicemail otherwise you are harassing unprofessional type. That's in any business.

I contacted this company for a quote to install a new home EV charger. They were the first to respond and scheduled a visit quickly, which I appreciated. I was told there would be a $50 quote fee—something I found odd for this type of service, but I agreed. Lesson learned for future projects. The technician arrived on time and assessed the setup. TLDR; I wish I had seen Steve Zimmerman's review below. Our breaker box died a month ago on a sunday, and Thomas Edison was the first company that could respond. I found plenty of decent reviews for them on google, yelp, and the BBB so at the time I figured their $8K+ quote to replace the box was reasonable, accounting for emergency response. Their work failed to pass inspection (some sort of overheating connector between the breaker and the meter), and they quoted me an additional ~$2100 to make things right. At that point ... read more
