Dr. A replaced my long-time physician who was wonderful but decided to retire. When Dr. A came into the room, he didn't introduce himself or anything just very bluntly told me he would not prescribe a medication that I have been taking for years and that works for me. This was very rude and off-putting and I will not return!
Horrible doctor Atkinson was very rude and unprofessional. When I went to see him. He decided to take me off some medicine that I have been taking for several years just all of a sudden. When I told him I didn’t wanna do that because I was afraid of the side effects of suddenly stopping a mental health medicine. He acted as if I was an idiot. I am never going back. Please stay away from this Dr.
I saw him for about a year. I talked to him twice regarding memory concerns. His comment both times was 'take more notes' & that there was nothing that could be done. I did research & asked for a referral to a Neuropsychologist. The only comment I got back was referred. After the testing with the neuro dr I was to go over my results with Dr. Atkinson. My primary care physician is retiring so I scheduled a new patient meeting with Dr Atkinson so that I could stay in the same practicing group. He never asked me if I had any health concerns or allowed me any input into my treatment plan. ten minutes into the meeting -without knowing anything about me, he informed me that he was cancelling the two prescription medications that I had taken for two years - because I was so successful with them. Dr. Atkinson and the entire staff at Utica Park Clinic are friendly, professional and responsive to my medical needs. I have recommended Dr. Atkinson to my friends because I wish they could have better health care.
Dr. Atkinson is always patient and listens to my opinions and problems. Highly recommended!!
No matter the type of visit Dr Atkinson takes the time to listen and works to find the root cause of the problem. He will also follow up after the visit.
I am a retired RN and am helping my sister navigate her complex medical problems. Visiting this physician was a breath of fresh air. I appreciated his thoroughness with her meds and explanation of the importance of following a regimen. He is caring and committed to following a high standard of care. I feel folks might give a poor review when they don’t get what they want.
This doctor is not pleasant. Have not and will not return since first and only visit.
