I love the advance classes, wood, metal & laser cutting they have it all. The instructors are friendly and very knowledgeable. It’s a share space, and the tools could get some abuse but they try their beat to keep it useable. (You can bring your blade or saw for works that requires more detail ) The hours are great, opens until midnight!
It was a good place. They made some questionable moves trying to use and license the Techshop name ("Techshop 2.0") initially without taking on the obligations, and the resulting lawsuit appears to be grinding them down. I think the San Jose location is still open.
It is an awesome maker space. I wish we had the same in Europe. I visited it couple of years ago when it was still called techshop. Now it is with a new name, has some new machines and more tools for soldering and a mini SMT reflow oven.
