For your own medical and mental health, stay away from Dr. Wells! Been a patient for 25 years, dutifully trying to cope with my gut issues, even when I told him my gut reacts to psyllium and methyl cellulose powders. I stopped taking fiber because it made me sicker. He repeats 'FODMAP' diet. Has no good remedy. Three months ago he wanted me to come in do yet another scope. "I've been going to Dr Wells for 7yrs. He is by far the best GI I have ever had. He treats my Crohns disease and has kept me healthier than any other GI. He listens, he talks to you as a human not a number. You see Him everytime, not a PA or NP. He does not rush you. He will call you at home on a weekend if needed. His staff is wonderful with questions and returning calls. Very caring when I've been out of sorts. I recommend Dr Wells 100%. He failed to me several times. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.
This man performed my colonoscopy. Removed a large polyp and took biopsies. He ignored questionable pathology that my doctor said wasn’t good. He ignored the size of the polyp and said “see you three years”. My doctor said this isn’t right. I need to have another scope in a year. Wells’ documentation was so poor my doctor isn’t sure what to make of it and to be safe I need to scoped again. It was an absolute waste to allow Dr. Wells to perform my colonoscopy.

Dr. Wells has 25+ years of experience with GI issues from A to Z. That’s why he’s trusted . He provides and informative and caring office and endoscopic setting. He takes the necessary time needed with patients.. like he does with me and I am pleased when I see him. At most Drs offices , NPs and PAs see the bulk of the patients. Dr. Wells sees all of his patients personally. I am grateful for the care that he provides.
After struggling with serious symptoms and after going through all the testing, he hasn’t helped. I’m still very sick. I don’t think he is listening and I can never finish a sentence during my visits with him.
We requested a last minute appointment at his Franklin location because of its proximity to my Mother?s home, but his team insisted on the North Bailey location. My 80-year-old Mom?s medical taxi driver was 30 minutes behind schedule and she had never been late before. Additionally, she was struggling to walk without pain, but we soldiered on, and traveled miles away from our home only to be told that Dr. Well?s refused to see us, after waiting an additional 15 minutes in his dismal waiting room.
