Was seen quickly. Friendly staff. Dr has good bedside manner. Trust his advice.
I thought Dr. Lygas was wonderful and he did my lumpectomy. Terrific doctor. But there was a problem with my billing and a $10.00 co-pay was sent to an incorrect address. The office would not hear of correcting this mistake and I was summarily "discharged" from the practice. So sad, as I liked Dr. Lygas very much, but his office practices (which I hope he was unaware of) are horrible.
Performed my mastectomy. He was very nice.
Highly recommend.
Cured me of cancer. I tell everyone in my community and church that I thank god I found him.
I saw Dr. Lygas in his Barnegat office. I was told about him from my gyn. Thank you for seeing me so fast. His staff is very friendly. I was happy to hear that I did not require surgery.
I can comment on the advice and direction I received from Dr. Lygas during and after my breast surgery. It became very apparent to me that Dr. Lygas's priorities were not necessarily in my best interest, but in his and his business involvement with his surgery center. I was given misleading and wrong information all to steer me in the direction of using his center and partners.
Business response:
We assure you that this recommendation was made with your best interests in mind. ASC's are the preferred facilities for this type of surgery for the following reasons: less complications, lower infection rates, less post-operative anesthesia sickness, shorter stay, lower costs, and overall increased patient satisfaction. Medicare recommends breast surgery to be performed out-patient whenever possible.
I have been a patient of Dr. Lygas for over 25 years. He has performed 4 surgeries for me and I cannot say enough wonderful things about him and his staff....professional, educated and compassionate. He and his staff are caring and accommodating from the moment you walk through their door. He is the best!
Dr. Lygas billing personnel are heartless as noted by other patients. Called office asking for monies due. Required to pay over $1,000 for his services. He is not in our provider network. The office billed our insurance for payment coverage, They receive $800+ but will not return the monies owed us till sometime in June when Doctor returns from vacation. According to billing clerk only the doctor can sign refund checks. Ridiculous.
Business response:
Unfortunately, we are not in-network with your insurance plan. When patients choose a provider outside of their network, the patients usually incur a higher out-of-pocket expense. It is our office policy to always notify patients when we do not accept their insurance and inform them of the extent of the cost of their care. However, many patients, like yourself, accept the higher cost, and choose to continue care with us, because of our reputation as a leading breast oncology care center.
