I am convinced that I am alive today because of Dr. Hovick. He was on call the night my daughter was born. She had the cord wrapped around her neck and was losing her heartbeat. Dr. Hovick delivered her safely. Afterwards I began hemorrhaging and needed a hysterectomy to stop the bleeding. There is not a day that goes by that that I’m not thankful for Dr. Hovick and his expertise.
Damaged my wife’s uterus and also during the c-section cut my son’s face and dismissed any concerns about it saying it’s normal.
Terrible. Completely dismissive. Said my pain was because of "my anxiety." Gave me an episiotomy even though I didn't need one. Truly horrible and potentially toxic/ dangerous for those who are emotionally/physically in pain.
Very dismissive of questions, answered before I even finished asking. Condescending and rude, and talked to me like I had no idea what was going on or how pregnancy worked despite the fact that I work in a medical field. He also touched my face to show me how to wear my mask “better”...I wouldn’t appreciate anyone just touching my face out of the blue, ever, but especially not in the middle of a pandemic. I changed practices after my visit with him.
40 minute wait time. Talked to me like I was a child. Was there for a pregnancy concern and was never given a pregnancy test. There was no breast exam. I was a little nervous to spread my legs as I had never had a male OB/GYN before and just needed to compose myself, and he says "work with me here". Ugh. Felt uncomfortable the rest of the time. He ordered tests and I didn't even take them, just wanted to get the hell out of there.
I had a terrible experience with Dr. Hovick. He never looked me in the eye and talked to me with his back to me even though it was the first time we met. He told me I wasn't allowed to flinch my legs because I might hit him and give him a headache and told me I was "old enough" to open my legs further. I was tense because I was so uncomfortable with how I was treated. I would never recommend him.
First time seeing a doctor at Mt. Nittany Health. Dr. Hovick consulted my husband and I in a very professional manner. He explained everything in detail, related it all back to us and our situation, gave future recommendations, timelines, etc. and even asked how we were feeling or if we had any further questions. We were able to talk freely with him; he was very friendly and courteous. Very knowledgeable and informative. Spent ample time with us and we did not feel rushed at all.
I highly recommend Dr. Hovick. I have friends who see him as well and we agree that he takes the time to listen and explain things very well.
He was very dismissive, actually refusing to answer a question - instead referring me to another doctor for a day that she wasn't in the office. It was clear he had no interest in taliking to me.
